# Install

> Install QuickBADS for Revit 2027 on Windows.

## Requirements

* Windows 10 or 11
* Revit 2027
* No admin rights needed. QuickBADS installs for your Windows user only.

## Install

<Steps>
  <Step title="Close Revit">
    Revit locks add-in files while it's open, so close it first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Unzip the download">
    Right-click the `QuickBADS-<version>.zip` file you downloaded, then click **Extract All…** and **Extract**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run Install.cmd">
    Double-click `Install.cmd` in the extracted folder. A window lists where QuickBADS was installed. Press any key to close it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start Revit and allow the add-in">
    Revit asks: *The publisher of this add-in could not be verified.* Click **Always Load**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the QuickBADS tab">
    Open a floor plan. The **QuickBADS** tab is on the ribbon.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your licence key">
    Click **QuickBADS → Licence**, paste the key from your email and click **Save key**. See [Licence key](/licence).

<Note>
  QuickBADS installs into `%AppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2027`.
</Note>

## Update

Close Revit and run `Install.cmd` from the new download. It replaces the old version.

## Uninstall

Close Revit, then double-click `Uninstall.cmd` in the folder you extracted.
