QuickBADS needs a licence key. The key comes by email when you subscribe at quickbads.com. The key is checked on your computer. Nothing about your model is sent anywhere.

Add your key

1

Copy the key from your email

The key is one long line that starts with QB1.. Copy all of it. Line breaks or spaces that your email app adds don’t matter.
2

Open the licence window

In Revit, go to the QuickBADS tab and click Licence.
3

Paste and save

Click in the box under Paste your key, press Ctrl + V, then click Save key. QuickBADS shows: Licence saved. Licensed to you@firm.com · 3 seats · valid until 25 Nov 2026.
The Licence window also shows the status, who the key is for, the number of seats, and when it ends.
The key is saved in %AppData%\QuickBADS\licence.txt for your Windows user. Updating or reinstalling QuickBADS keeps it.

Renewals

Each month, after your payment goes through, you get an email with a new key. Paste it under QuickBADS → Licence the same way. Each key keeps working for 14 days after the period you paid for. In the last 7 days QuickBADS reminds you once per Revit session, the first time you click a button: Your QuickBADS licence ends on 25 Nov 2026 (in 5 days).

When there’s no key, or it has ended

These buttons stop working and explain why:
  • Place BADS
  • Auto Update (fills stop following your changes)
  • Go To Schedule
  • Clear Fills ▾ → Clear Apartment
These always work:
  • Licence
  • Clear Fills ▾ → Clear Whole Plan: you can always remove QuickBADS fills from your model.
  • Graphics and Settings (your changes are saved; the plan redraws once you have a key)
  • Report Bug
Fills already in your model stay where they are. Paste a new key and click Place BADS to bring them up to date.

Remove the key

Open QuickBADS → Licence and click Remove key. For example, do this before you hand the computer to someone else.
